  6. Pay Application Fee: Pay the application fee online through net banking, credit/debit card, or UPI.

Application Fee

  • General/OBC/PWD/NRI/PIO/OCI Candidates: INR 4,000
  • SC/ST/BPL Candidates: INR 3,500

Exam Date

The CLAT 2025 exam date is yet to be announced. Typically, the exam is conducted in the month of May. Candidates are advised to regularly check the official CLAT website for updates.

Eligibility Criteria

Undergraduate (UG) Programs

  1. Educational Qualification:

    • Candidates must have passed 10+2 or an equivalent examination with a minimum of 45% marks (40% for SC/ST candidates).
    • Candidates appearing in the qualifying examination in March/April 2025 are also eligible to apply, provided they submit proof of passing the exam at the time of admission.
  2. Age Limit:

    • There is no upper age limit for CLAT 2025.

Postgraduate (PG) Programs

  1. Educational Qualification:

    • Candidates must have an LL.B. Degree or an equivalent examination with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST candidates).
    • Candidates appearing in the qualifying examination in March/April 2025 are also eligible to apply, provided they submit proof of passing the exam at the time of admission.
  2. Age Limit:

    • There is no upper age limit for CLAT 2025.

Examination Pattern

Undergraduate (UG) Program

  • Mode of Exam: Offline (Pen and Paper-based)
  • Duration: 2 hours
  • Type of Questions: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
  • Total Questions: 150
  • Sections: English Language, Current Affairs including General Knowledge, Legal Reasoning, Logical Reasoning, and Quantitative Techniques

Postgraduate (PG) Program

  • Mode of Exam: Offline (Pen and Paper-based)
  • Duration: 2 hours
  • Type of Questions: Objective and Subjective
  • Total Questions: 120 MCQs and 2 Descriptive Questions
  • Sections: Constitutional Law, Jurisprudence, Administrative Law, Law of Contract, Torts, Family Law, Criminal Law, Property Law, Company Law, Public International Law, Tax Law, Environmental Law, Labour & Industrial Law

Merit List and Counseling

  1. Merit List: The merit list is prepared based on the marks obtained in the CLAT 2025 examination. Separate merit lists are prepared for UG and PG programs.
  2. Counseling: Candidates shortlisted based on the merit list are invited for the counseling process. The counseling process involves document verification, seat allocation, and payment of fees.
